The number nine evokes fulfilment, maturity and readiness for a new chapter. For this ninth edition of the Vietnamese Cultural Weeks, it invites us to reflect on how far we have come and look ahead to what lies beyond.
In 2027, we will also celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Vietnamese Cultural Centre of Canada. Ten years of commitment, encounters and connections forged with artists, volunteers, partners and audiences have given us the momentum to dare to dream. Drawing on the experience we have gained, we find inspiration to imagine new ways of creating and coming together.
This edition will be both a celebration and a stepping stone towards the tenth edition. Its programme will unfold across four series: Tribute, Nostalgia, Discovery and Youth. A number of events will bring works, generations and cultures into dialogue. Through music, dance, comedy, literature, photography, theatre and live performance, we will revisit the experiences that have left their mark on us, while welcoming the voices and ideas that will shape the years to come.
