Renée duRocher is a painter born in Granby, Quebec. She has a bachelor’s degree in plastic arts from UQAM and has been exhibiting her work in recognized venues since 1976. Quoted in monographs devoted to the history of art in Quebec, her works are found in public and private museum collections.
Recognized by her peers, Renée duRocher’s work has also left its mark on the history of art in Quebec. According to art historians, the relationship to time and history is the foundation of this artist’s pictorial work.
From September 25th, 2023 to March 29, 2024, Espace Québec in collaboration with the Ministère des Relations Internationales et de la Francophonie du Québec (MRIF) and the French department of the University of Languages and International Studies of Hanoi (ULIS), presents an exhibition on two of the series created by Renée duRocher: Xanh (blue) created after a stay in North Vietnam, particularly in Sapa and Trottoirs, her most recent creations.
